GOP lawmaker: Virtually impossible to get AIDS through heterosexual sex | The Raw Story

And this person was elected? I really really really do think that voting is a wonderful thing, and that everyone has the right to vote. But gorraam it, along with rights come responsibilities, and one of those responsibilities should be to check out the person you're voting for and make sure that person isn't an idiot. For an elected official to hold such proven wrong views is beyond belief.
Virtually impossible for someone to get aids from heterosexual acts? Tell that to the millions of African women who were infected by their husbands. Tell them it was virtually impossible for such a thing to happen.
Checking out the senator led me to this list of bills he's sponsored or co-sponsored for the state of Tennessee:
An interesting list. Hits most of the standard Repub talking points. More guns, forget some of those pesky safe driving laws, and heaven forbid that someone who breaks a traffic law be caught by a camera instead of a real person. Drug testing for welfare recipients, making it harder for abortion clinics to operate, authorizing teachers to carry guns in school.
I confess, I do like this one:
Newspapers and Publications - As introduced, requires the delivery of unsolicited newspapers and tabloids be suspended or terminated upon request of the owner or occupant of the property upon which such newspapers or tabloids are left.

I get real tired of picking up The Beacon newspaper, after it blows into my yard from the neighbors. He's asked them to stop it, they won't.
