Youngstown News, Which will Kasich choose: Pay for roads the old-fashioned way, or raid turnpike’s coffers

Youngstown News, Which will Kasich choose: Pay for roads the old-fashioned way, or raid turnpike’s coffers

An editorial against Kasich's plan to lease off the turnpike for some quick cash. His plan to solve a problem that didn't exist, to make money for some of his other grand plans.
Even while he repeatedly says that the results of a $3.5 million study on the turnpike’s future that he commissioned won’t be released until the end of the month, Kasich appeared before the Ohio Contractors Association with a clear message.
What I really want to know is, who gave him the OK to spend that $3.5 million? If our state is so poor that state agencies are being cut back to unworkable levels, where did he find the $3.5 million?
